T-Shirt Design: Best Possible Ways to add Your Brand Label and Brand logo in a T-Shirt

Selecting the right place for attaching a brand label or brand logo on a T-shirt is a part of T-shirt designing. There is a number of options. I will be sharing different ways of attaching your brand logo and a brand label on a T-shirt.

I was preparing Garment Techpack for the premium quality T-shirts. I was trying to make it informative with all the technical details. The purpose was to provide every detailing of the t-shirt construction to suppliers through the teckpack and minimize to and fro communication between supplier and buyer.

In this process I did a short research and reviewed many premium quality t-shirts, sport wears (T-shirts), and polo shirts to understand variation in construction details and design features.

One thing I found very interesting that brands are very innovative in labelling and selecting a place in the garment for the brand label or brand logo. It is not just building a brand but also make the T-shirt awesome.

I learned label can be attached to a T-shirt many ways -

  • you can print the label on t-shirt,
  • you can directly embroider brand logo on the T-shirt,
  • you can use transfer paper for logos or label,
  • you can use woven label, or printed woven label and label to be attached later by sewing.

Following are mostly used locations.
  1. Left Chest: This is very common to print or embroider a brand logo on the left chest.
  2. Back yoke: You can find many brands print logo on the back yoke. Or use embroidered logo.
  3. Inside back yoke (or on the moon patch): This place is also most common to attach brand name or logo. There is benefit if you choose inside back yoke. You can reduce process. You can print size label, care instruction with brand logo all together.
  4. Sleeve Edge: Loop label with brand logo or brand name attached on the left sleeve edge.
  5. On the Sleeve: Woven label attached on left sleeve near hemlines.
  6. Side Seam: Woven brand label in the form of flag label attached left side seam, few centimeters above the bottom hem.
  7. Bottom hem: There is one option for you to choose place for attaching brand label. It is front bottom hem in the left side few centimeters away from side seam. Generally loop label are attached here.
  8. Bottom Corner: Woven brand label attached on left bottom corner (also found in right front corner). Embroidered logo also found at this place.
  9. Neck: Loop label attached back neck rib.
  10. Shoulder Seam: On the front or back shoulder brand logo is embroidered.
