I'm Prasanta Sarkar, a seasoned Textile Engineer and a proud alumnus of NIFT. I hold a Post Graduate degree in Fashion Technology from NIFT, New Delhi, and a B. Tech from the College of Textile Technology, Serampore. I'm also the author of the acclaimed book, "Garment Manufacturing: Processes, Practices and Technology," and the creator of this insightful blog.
My professional journey includes valuable experience in garment exports in Gurgaon and as a consultant for an apparel firm, which has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the industry. I've visited numerous garment manufacturing facilities across India and Bangladesh, conducting extensive training programs in industrial engineering, quality management, and sewing operator skills. I have a proven track record in project implementation focused on productivity and quality enhancement, factory MIS systems development, and successful plant start-ups.
Currently, I leverage my expertise as an Operations Engineer at CGS Inc., where I'm instrumental in implementing real-time production monitoring systems for garment manufacturers and developing critical MIS reports. The real-time production tracking system works based on RFID technology and Barcode Tags. Check this page to learn more about the shop control system.
I have implemented the Real-time PMS in many countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Cambodia, Turkey, Egypt, Mauritius, Bulgaria, and India. These project implementations were done through visiting garment manufacturing plants. Some projects are implemented in other countries through remote training and video calling.
I passionately dedicate my spare time to writing articles for this blog, drawing inspiration and topics directly from the questions and interests of my blog readers.
