Egypt is one of the major apparel sourcing destinations in African countries. As per the latest news update, the minimum wage of Egypt has been revised with effect from 01 January 2022. This minimum wage is applicable in the garment manufacturing sector as well.
Minimum wage update 2022:
The minimum wage has been increased from EGP2,000.00 to EGP2,400.00 per month.
This amount is equivalent to US$150 per month.
The amount is in Egyptian Pound (EGP).

The minimum wage is based on 8 hours per day - a five-day workweek Or a 6-day work week with 7 hours per day (a 42-hour working week is standard).
