I am pleased to share that my new book, Production Planning and Control in Apparel Manufacturing (Print Edition), will be released soon.
Production Planning and Control (PPC) is one of the most important functions in garment manufacturing. Every day, planners work behind the scenes to balance production capacity, monitor materials, coordinate departments, manage schedules, and ensure that customer orders are delivered on time. Despite its importance, practical learning resources dedicated to apparel production planning remain limited.
This book was written to address that gap. It brings together practical knowledge, tools, calculations, planning methods, and real industry experiences that can help both new and experienced professionals strengthen their planning skills.
The book covers a wide range of topics, including capacity planning, line loading, order allocation, throughput time analysis, critical path management, Time and Action (T&A) calendars, production control, planning software, and performance measurement. Practical examples and case studies are included throughout the book to connect planning concepts with real factory situations.
The content is based on industry practices observed across garment manufacturing operations in different countries and production environments. While factories may differ in size, structure, and product categories, the fundamental principles of production planning remain largely the same.
This book is intended for production planners, PPC professionals, merchandisers, industrial engineers, production managers, apparel manufacturing students, and anyone interested in understanding how garment production is planned and controlled.
The ISBN registration and publishing process are currently underway. Additional information regarding availability and release dates will be shared soon.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project. I look forward to sharing the completed book with the apparel manufacturing community.
